Teams of police arrived at the school just before noon Friday, and put the school on lockdown as officers swept the building classroom by classroom searching for the student. Police confirmed that a staff member at the school had called for help earlier that day after staff became aware a student had allegedly brought a gun to class. The lockdown went on for a full hour until police located the student, who was found with an airsoft gun. Police took the student into custody, but have no details yet on why the airsoft gun was brought to school and if the student posed any threat. The age and name of the male student, as well as whether charges are being laid, havent been released yet. Ernest Manning reopened around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon, and police are currently investigating what led to the incident.
